The age old question; why? Over the span of this past year I’ve had quite a few people come to me and ask me; “why did you get into photography?” When it comes to an activity and lifestyle as consuming as being a photographer many different people have their own personal reasons for doing photography. “Because it’s fun,” “I like to create beautiful images,” “I want to tell my story,” and so on and so forth. The reason why I originally got into photography was when I was 18 years old I absolutely adored the work of Ansel Adams and fell in love with doing landscape photography. I would embark on trips to Idaho City, Stanley, McCall, The Oregon Coast, etc and attempt to capture the natural scenery. The reason why I do photography today is because I want to create images that inspire and motivate people as well as to shed light on the lesser seen side of life.
